We partner with local schools, train volunteer coaches, and build the research, speaking, and argumentation skills students need to compete with confidence.

FBYD brings free coaching directly to students at our partner middle schools in Fort Bend County.

We bring free Speech and Debate workshops directly to underserved communities — no experience needed. Our coaches lead hands-on sessions in argumentation, public speaking, and critical thinking.
FBYD volunteers travel to community centers, schools, and youth organizations across Fort Bend County to run free, interactive workshops in public speaking and argumentation.
Sessions are typically one to two hours and are designed for students with zero prior experience. We handle everything — curriculum, coaches, and materials.

Yes, completely. FBYD's mission is to make tournament-level debate coaching accessible to all students, regardless of financial background. There is no cost to participate.
We currently serve middle school students at Fort Settlement MS and Quail Valley MS. If you attend one of our partner schools, you're eligible to join — no prior experience required.
None at all. Our coaches have competed at high levels and are experienced at teaching fundamentals from scratch. Beginners are not just welcome — they're who we're here for.
No — FBYD is an independent student-run organization. We partner with local middle schools but are not officially affiliated with or funded by Fort Bend ISD.
